The Centre Region Council of Governments is a voluntary association of State College Borough and the townships of College, Halfmoon, Harris, Ferguson and Patton. It was established in 1969 to provide cost effective and high quality public services. The COG's service area is about 150 square miles with a population of 92,000 residents. COG News
Zoning Administration Training available in College Township
The Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Education Institute (PMPEI) is offering The Course in Zoning Administration at the College Township Municipal Building over three nights in February and March 2012. The course is for zoning hearing boards, zoning officials, planning commissioners, elected officials and others involved in zoning administration.

Pre-drilling Testing and Monitoring of Private Drinking Water Sources
Private well or natural spring drinking water testing is now available through the "Marcellus Environmental Fund" for low income families. The Centre County Natural Gas Task Force has created documents on pre-drilling testing and monitoring guidelines.
